Festival of Archaeology: Test Pits

Test pits are small holes that archaeologists dig to find out what is underground before they carry out a larger excavation. Why not dig one for yourself in your garden and see what you can uncover, following the instructions in the activity sheet below from Andover Museum and Museum of the Iron Age.
