Kickstart: My first month

The Kickstart scheme is open to people that are aged 16-24 that are currently claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment. Elvyra has been Forest Arts Centre Trainee for the last two months and has been an integral part of the team. The art room has never looked so organised! She is friendly and quick to learn and brings in 'lazy cake' often, which is a big thumbs up from the team!

Elvyra  is with Forest Arts for 6 months, here is what she had to say about her first month.

Elvyra Rapceviciute Kickstart trainee at Forest Art Centre:

'At the beginning of the October, I got to know new people in the first month and take a look at what's going on in the building because I have never worked in this area, everything is new to me and I have learned a lot in one month. I am learning a lot of everything and it seems to be very interesting. I have been helping around learning new skills, working at the desk using the box office, serving at the café, getting in touch with customers and helping volunteers at the trust. I have started to work more on the computer and the team I work with has given me so much advice with what to do and how improve my skill at Hampshire Cultural Trust. I have been doing a lot of bar serving in the day time and I did some work for the open exhibition, helping staff to catch up and developing myself to do better.'

Well done Ellie, what a great start!
